I never realized the power I had in RSS feeds until today, when it finally dawned on me…
I can pick and choose My Own Newspaper!!
There are several good free RSS readers out there, but for now, I’m using the one I’m already signed up for, My Yahoo! I spent much of the early morning hours today picking and choosing modules for it. It’s amazingly fun!
The first page of My Yahoo! is my News Page. The RSS news feeds it contains are:
- Photos from the Hubble & Spitzer Space Telescopes.
- Top news stories from Reuters.
There’s a second page that I made titled Fun & Games, it contains:
- Fark.com
- The Onion
- Links to my two slow-playing chess sites, Net Chess and Gameknot.
- The latest movie listings from two of the three dollar conemas I know if in town.
A third page in My Yahoo! devoted to blogging contains:
- A feed from my own blog, Big Skye’s Country.
- A how-to blog on blogging, called Daily Blog Tips.
There’s a fourth page in My Yahoo! devoted to Bible study, but I don’t want to go into the details on that. It’s mostly one of 18 packaged pages My Yahoo! offers, and I have yet to really fine-tune the content of that page.
Anybody out there have an RSS feed page? With what do you have it stocked?
